MOORHEAD (KFGO) – The Concordia College Board of Regents has approved a $20 million housing project that will add 56 apartments and commercial space along 8th Street South in the center of Concordia’s Campus
The four-story building will include apartments designed mainly for juniors and seniors, along with space for businesses on the ground floor.
“This is about so much more than new living spaces,” said Concordia College President Colin Irvine. “It’s about doubling down on our residential learning model that is at the heart of the Concordia experience.
The project will replace several existing buildings, including the former Welcome Center and apartments that housed international students. The Welcome Center at 12th Avenue will not be affected.

The building will include 53 two-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom units. Rent will include utilities, and all apartments will have air conditioning and in-unit laundry.
Construction is expected to begin in January 2027, with apartments scheduled to open in August 2028.
