BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) – Gov. Kelly Armstrong has appointed Walsh County State’s Attorney Kelley Cole to an open judgeship in the Northeast Judicial District.
Cole has served as state’s attorney in Walsh County since 2017 after being appointed.
She has been elected to the position twice in 2018 and 2022.
The Minnesota native earned her law degree in 2000 from the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul.
Cole is filling the seat that was vacated by the resignation of Judge Barbara Whelan in April.
She will be seated on August 17.
