VALLEY CITY, N.D. (KFGO) – Both lanes of eastbound I-94 in Barnes County near Valley City were blocked for about 90 minutes Tuesday morning after a pickup pulling an enclosed trailer was tipped on its side by wind.
The Highway Patrol says the pickup and trailer overturned after traveling too fast for the strong winds. The pickup went into the ditch and the trailer blocked both lanes of the interstate. Traffic had to pass on the shoulder while the lanes were blocked. The driver of the pickup had minor injuries.
The patrol says all drivers should use extra caution while driving in strong winds and a routine drive can become dangerous in seconds for semis, campers and vehicles pulling trailers.
