FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) — Federal investigators are looking into the cause of a small plane crash on Saturday that killed North Dakota Rep. Liz Conmy of Fargo and the pilot.
Rep. LaurieBeth Hager of Fargo was a close friend who worked with Conmy in Bismarck. Hager says she’s still processing the news and feels for Conmy’s four children.
Hager says Conmy had the ability to light up a room and everyone across the political spectrum in the Legislature will miss her dearly.
“Liz had so much energy. She was always laughing or causing people to laugh, so she was just very fun to be around. When you’re working in a legislative session, it’s very intense, it’s great to have someone bring laughter and joy into your daily life,” Hager says. “We’re a family. It’s not just Democrats that are a family. We’re all one big family out there. A crazy family… don’t always get along, but this loss is everybody’s loss.”
Conmy was first elected to the House in 2022 and was running for re-election at the time of her death.
