MARSHALL, Minn. (KVRR) — Republican Rep. Michelle Fischbach has won her party’s backing in Minnesota’s 7th District.
Fischbach was endorsed during the district convention Saturday in Marshall. Fischbach was first endorsed in 2020 and defeated longtime Democrat Rep. Collin Peterson. She has been re-elected twice.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you! Republicans in #MN07 are united behind proven conservative leadership, defending our majority in the US House, and driving turnout to turn MN Red,” Fischbach wrote in a social media post.
Erik Osberg of Wadena won the District 7 Democratic endorsement over State Rep. Heather Keeler of Moorhead.
“Our team has put in the work over the last 410 days and we will win this race in 192 days. I’m truly grateful for all the support we’ve gotten along the way. We look forward to continuing to unite Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District,” Osberg says.
The primary election in Minnesota is Aug. 11.
