MINNESOTA (KFGO) – On “News and Views”, the Democratic nominee for Minnesota’s 7th Congressional seat shared his thoughts on the national debt.
“My biggest concern is corporations. We have to close loopholes so that corporations that make money in America pay taxes in America. There’s mega corporations, they’re making billions and billions of dollars and they’re not paying their fair share,” Erik Osberg explained.
Osberg said he believes our country’s $40 billion debt is a collections problem.
Osberg also talked about fraud.
“I think we’ve gotten to this point as a party, as far as Democrats are concerned, but we need to admit it’s a problem. Take accountability for it,” Osberg said. “Right now we seem to be more focused on punishment than prevention. We have to build systems that identify this happening.”
KFGO News reached out to Osberg’s opponent, Republican Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach’s campaign to find out how she would combat fraud and cut the national debt. We didn’t hear back as of this article’s publication.
