FARGO – A 30-year-old Fargo man has been arrested in connection with a late September shots fired incident in north Fargo.
Connor James Averson was identified as the suspect following information and tips provided by community members, according to the Fargo Police Department.
Averson was initially located after his vehicle was found in a ditch. North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers responded to the vehicle and arrested Averson for Actual Physical Control (APC). Once he was transported and booked into the Cass County Jail, Fargo police investigators arrested him on charges of Class C felony criminal mischief and Class C felony reckless endangerment tied to the shooting.
The charges stem from an early morning gunfire incident on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Officers responded around 3:58 a.m. to the 1100 block of 19th Avenue North, where they discovered multiple shell casings and confirmed several bullet strikes to a nearby building. Police subsequently released surveillance images of a male suspect and a blue Subaru WRX or STI fleeing the scene, requesting the public’s assistance in identifying them.
Fargo Police expressed gratitude to the community for helping identify Averson, noting that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
