MINNESOTA (Minnesota News Network) – Governor Tim Walz said he accepts responsibility for not doing more to stop fraud in state programs.
Speaking at the Minnesota Star Tribune’s North Star Summit, Walz said he should have pushed state agencies harder as warning signs emerged.
The governor acknowledged fraud has tainted his record, but points to free school meals, the child tax credit and paid family and medical leave as accomplishments he hopes will endure.
Walz also ruled out running for public office again.
