DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KFGO-KDLM) – A Detroit Lakes student will represent Minnesota this week at a national leadership program focused on the future of health care.
Mailyn Aligada, president and founder of Detroit Lakes HOSA, has been selected to attend HOSA-Future Health Professionals’ Washington Leadership Academy in Washington, D.C.
Aligada will represent Minnesota and join student leaders from across the country for training in civic engagement, professional development, public health policy and health care advocacy.
During the academy, students will also have the opportunity to meet with national leaders and learn more about issues affecting the health care profession.
HOSA is an international, student-led organization that helps students interested in health careers develop leadership skills and gain experience as they prepare for the health care workforce.
