FARGO (KFGO) – A signature seasonal attraction in Fargo-Moorhead, The Great Maze, returns to West Acres on Sept. 19 for its fourth season with a milestone under its belt.
Guinness World Records officially certified the 40,411-square-foot structure as the world’s largest temporary wooden maze. Located in the West Acres Mall parking lot, the attraction runs through Nov. 1, offering daytime navigation for families alongside haunted Halloween-season transformations after dark.
“We wanted this season to feel brand new, so we put a lot of work into new features and a new design throughout the maze,” said Kathy Johnson, owner of The Great Maze. “Earning the Guinness World Records title was the icing on the cake, but what I’m most excited for guests to see is what we built this year.”
The season features several recurring and special events:
-
Petting Zoo: Joah’s Ark Mobile Petting Zoo visits Saturday, Sept. 26, from noon to 4 p.m.
-
Dog Days: Visitors can bring dogs every Tuesday.
-
College Thursdays: College students receive 50% off admission with a valid ID every Thursday.
-
Haunted Nights: Special haunted maze experiences take place on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24.
The Great Maze operates Mondays through Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online at thegreatmaze.com.
