CO Ben Huener (Roseau) assisted teaching wilderness safety and survival at Lake Bronson State Park to area 4H. ATV activity monitored in Beltrami Island State Forest, with a fair number of berry pickers utilizing the forest. Minor ATV infractions encountered.
CO Tony Hams (Warroad North) spent the week working on a pre-employment background investigation and following up with various complaints. Violations encountered were transporting fillets without skin patches.

CO Coby Fontes (Warroad South) spent the week patrolling the Beltrami Island State Forest and attending training. Enforcement action was taken for operating unregistered recreational vehicles.

CO Bobby Stringer (Thief River Falls West) focused on angling and ATV activity in Pennington CO Stringer noted that anglers are starting to see success during early morning hours where the water temperatures are cooler. Bear baiting activity was observed throughout the area including within multiple WMAs. Please read the current bear baiting regulations to ensure compliance with dates for this activity. Enforcement actions for the week included angling without license in possession and multiple ATV violations.
CO Sarah Jahn (Thief River Falls East) time was spent teaching 4H youth about outdoor safety and Minnesota animals at outdoor adventure camp. A wetland case was started. Assistance was given to local agencies on a medical call for an individual who had fallen from a horse.

CO Nicholas Prachar (Blackduck #1) reports continued boating and angling activity on area lakes. Time was spent working both activities as well as ATV enforcement.

CO Tom Hutchins (Crookston) reports checking anglers and boaters on area lakes and rivers. Time was further spent assisting other LE agencies. Various angling and boating related violations were encountered.

CO Jamus Veit (Bemidji #1) spent the week attending training at Camp Ripley, completing online training, following up on on-going cases, answering calls/questions from the public, and patrolling ATV trails. Enforcement action was taken for operating unregistered OHM and operating an unauthorized motor vehicle on ATV trail.

CO Andrew Goodman (Perham) patrolled area waters for angling and recreational activity. Anglers are still struggling to find a consistent bite, despite cooling waters. Goodman spent time speaking at a firearms safety class and assisting with a field day in Pelican Rapids. Additional time was spent following up on ongoing public waters, wetland and aquatic plant restoration orders.

CO Curtis Jepson (Osage) reports monitoring angling and boating activity and patrolling public lands during the week. The law and ethics portion of a firearms safety class was presented to 24 students.

CO Angela Warren (Mahnomen) spent time on angling and boating activity. AIS compliance was monitored and patrol was also conducted for ATV activity.

CO Bill Landmark (Moorhead) spent the week working on ongoing caseloads and a background investigation. A headless buck was investigated, that turned out to be a car kill, and numerous regulation related questions were answered regarding upcoming hunting seasons.

CO Grey Corbus (Pelican Rapids) spent the week monitoring angling and boating activity, fielding various wildlife complaints, and monitoring ATV activity as well. With the cooler temperatures compared to previous weeks, fishing success has seemed to improve considerably. Enforcement action was taken for various boating and fishing violations.

CO Brady Manteufel (Bagley) multiple calls regarding bears damaging corn fields were received this week. Angling and boat safety checks were also conducted and ATVs operating with no headlights on were addressed. A landowner north of Solway called that he had found a dead deer in his field and an arrow was found in the back hip of the deer. The deer and the arrow were retrieved from the location. It was a young 8pt buck in velvet. If anyone has any information, please call the DNR TIP line or CO Manteufel.

CO Ryan Schaefer (Bemidji #2) spent this past week checking local anglers and monitoring ATV activity. Various wildlife complaints were fielded from the public, along with several salvage deer permits being issued. CO Schaefer also attended two public outreach events, including Night to Unite at the Boys and Girls Club in Bemidji and a water safety presentation at Itasca State Park. Enforcement action was taken for multiple ORV related violations and regular traffic law violations.

CO Hanna Wood (Fergus Falls) spent the week focused on angling and recreational vehicle enforcement. She attended training and gave the waterfowl laws and ethics talk and this year’s Woodie Camp.

CO Tricia Plautz (Henning) conducted an ATV safety field day, handled several nuisance beaver complaints, and began working on a background investigation for a potential new employee.

CO Ryan Brown (Elbow Lake) spent majority of the week down in St. Paul for training. Additional time was spent on boating and angling enforcement during the weekend.

CO Shane Osborne (Evansville) checked fishermen, boaters, ATV’s and APM compliance on area lakes. Calls about wake boats were received and handled. Injured animal calls were handled.

CO Jake Homan (Alexandria) spent the week patrolling Douglas and Pope Counties for ATV, angling, and recreational boating activities. Time was spent completing an AIS saturation with other conservation officers. Enforcement action was taken for a variety of AIS violations.

CO Felicia Znajda (Osakis) reports working boating and fishing activity while also teaming up with surrounding partners to target invasive species enforcement. She spent time at Camp Ripley teaching numerous CO’s their new computer system. Various enforcement action taken throughout the week.

CO Emily Douvier (Morris) reports working fishing and recreational enforcement. Time was also spent flying and working our camera for wetland related complaints.

CO Andrew Ladzinski (Glenwood) spent time on boating and invasive species enforcement. He received multiple complaints of jet ski violations. Extra watercraft patrols were performed on local lakes. A detail was conducted with neighboring officers, focusing on invasive species and watercraft. Enforcement action was taken for transporting aquatic vegetation on trailers, transporting water in live wells, failing to remove boat drain plugs, and no angling license in possession.
