FARGO (KFGO) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a man was killed after being thrown from his motorcycle in a crash at the intersection of Main Ave and University Drive in Fargo Thursday afternoon.
The crash report says just after 3:20 p.m. a 60-year-old Mahnomen man riding on his motorcycle collided with the back of an SUV in the intersection after he ran through a red light. The SUV was going south on University Drive through the intersection. The man was thrown from his motorcycle and then hit by a pickup, the motorcycle hit another car traveling behind the pickup.
The man was taken to Sanford Medical Center where he died from his injuries suffered in the crash, he was wearing a helmet. The other drivers were not injured.
Traffic was diverted away from the intersection for hours while crews worked to clean up the scene of the crash. Fargo Police, Fargo Fire and Sanford Ambulance assisted the Highway Patrol.
