MOORHEAD (KFGO/KVRR) — Moorhead has a third candidate for mayor. Craig Whaley filed paperwork to run for the office ahead of Tuesday’s 5 p.m. filing deadline.
He joins DelRae Williams and Lisa Borgen in seeking the position currently held by Shelly Carlson. Carlson decided to not seek re-election and run for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 4A.
Williams is a former mayor of Moorhead.
Arlan Swenson has also entered the race for city council in Ward 3 against Council Member Deb White and Evett Ellis.
Ryan Schatz has filed to run for the council seat in Ward 2 that is held by Council Member Heather Nesemeier. Chris Snyder is also seeking that seat.
The latest list of candidates no longer includes James McKinstra, who was seeking the Ward 4 seat on the council.
The election is November 3.
