(KNFL/KFGO) – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks would go on to win the three game series against the Cleburne Railroaders at Newman Outdoor Field. This was the final game before the American Association All-Star break. The RedHawks would start right-hander Bryce Brassfield in the series rubber match.
Cleburne would start the scoring in the top of the first when Carter Aldrete hit an RBI single into right field to make it 1-0.
Then in the fourth inning, Cody Thomas would extend the Railroaders lead to 2-0 off of a solo homerun.
The score would stay 2-0 leading into the bottom of the eighth where the RedHawks got hot. Juan Fernandez would drive in the first run after reaching on an error. Jose Sermo would give the RedHawks the lead shortly after hitting a two RBI double. Jairus Richards then drove in another two on a bloop single, making the score 5-2 in Favor of the RedHawks.
Coby Wilkerson brought the innings run total to with a sacrifice bunt. Aidan Byrne capped off the scoring with an RBI double that left the RedHawks up 7-2 going into the 9th.
The Railroaders would try to start a rally in the 9th, starting with a Caleb McNeely home run on the first pitch of the inning. Cody Thomas would be responsible for the final RBI for the Railroaders with a single to centerfield making the final score 7-4.
Relief pitcher Parker Harm would pick up the win for the RedHawks on the mound and closer Tyler Jeans was credited with the save. The Railroaders reliever Braydon Nelson was given the loss.
