GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) — A 20-year-old Grand Forks man is facing felony charges after investigators say they found at least 100 files of child sex abuse materials on his cell phone.
Court documents say the North Dakota BCI was contacted by Snapchat in February after the company’s software flagged child sex abuse materials on an account located in the state. BCI investigators used warrants and subpoenas to link the Snapchat account to Keaton Hendricks.
Monday, officers served a search warrant. A BCI report says investigators found images and videos depicting sexual images of minors, and that Hendricks admitted to possession child sex abuse materials depicting children as young as infants.
The BCI report also says officers found evidence that Hendricks communicated with a 15-year-old girl, and asked her for nude photos and videos of herself. Investigators say Hendricks admitted to asking for sexual content from the girl.
Hendricks was charged with 10 felony counts of possession of child sex abuse materials Friday. He is also facing a felony charge for directing a sexual performance by a minor.
