(KNFL/KFGO) – The FM RedHawks and Lincoln Saltdogs played game two of the series Tuesday night. The RedHawks’ Eric Chalus who was making his RedHawks debut would take the mound. In the top of the first inning Saltdogs’ Nick Shumpert would attempt to stretch a one out double into a triple. Andy Nelson would gun Shumpert down at third to end the threat.
In the bottom of the 4th inning, Jose Sermo would single followed by a Tripp Clark double. Jairus Richards would ground out to first, but Jose Sermo would score to make it 1-0 RedHawks. Brian Fuentes would then single to drive in Tripp Clark to make it 2-0.
In the bottom of the 5th inning, Dillon Thomas would crush a ball over the right-center field wall for his 7th homerun to make it 3-0 RedHawks.
The score would remain 3-0 until the top of the 8th inning. The Saltdogs had runners on first and third when Connor Bagnieski hit a two run double to make it 3-2. Calyn Halvorson would follow with a triple to bring in Bagnieski to tie the game 3-3.
The game would not stay tied for long. In the bottom of the 8th inning with one out, Jose Sermo would hit a solo homerun and the RedHawks would retake the lead 4-3. The one run lead would be enough for the RedHawks as Tyler Jeans pitched a scoreless 9th and sealed the RedHawks victory 4-3.
