HAMBERG, N.D. (KFGO) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol is reminding drivers to use extra caution when crossing railroad tracks after a semi was hit by a train Thursday. Troopers responded to the crash near Hamberg in rural Wells County. Nobody was injured in the crash.
The Highway Patrol says trains can take more than a mile to stop and drivers should never try to beat a train at a crossing. They’re also asking drivers to look both directions at all crossings and say you can see a train before you hear it.
