House heavily damaged in fire southwest of Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (KFGO) – A home southwest of Alexandria sustained severe damage in a fire Tuesday night.  

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:45 p.m. to the fire at 6981 Violet Drive SW in Holmes City Township. Deputies could see flames coming from inside the house and called for fire crews.  

The Alexandria, Kensington, Brandon, and Garfield Fire Departments responded and extinguished the fire. The Holmes City First Responders and North Memorial Ambulance also responded, although no one was hurt.  

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
