Nicolas Fierro-Borunda
FARGO (KFGO) – A Mexican national with multiple convictions for entering the U.S. illegally has been sentenced for reentering the country illegally again.
35-year-old Nicolas Fierro-Borunda was stopped by a North Dakota Trooper in rural McKenzie County in December. The trooper contacted Border Patrol after Fierro-Borunda and a passenger presented Mexican ID’s. Fierro-Borunda admitted to the Border Patrol agent he was in the U.S. illegally.
Fierro-Borunda was sentenced to 15 months in prison Thursday. He will be deported once serving his sentence. His trial was held in Fargo.
Fierro-Borunda was arrested in Texas in 2018 for smuggling over 60 lbs of marijuana into the county. He has been deported from the U.S. twice.
