FARGO (KFGO) – Packet Digital of Fargo is planning to build a battery cell factory in north Fargo.
The company is known for designing and manufacturing batteries for drones. It will be the state’s first battery cell plant.
Packet Digital has been awarded a $17 million grant by the Clean Sustainable Energy Authority, a branch of North Dakota’s Industrial Commission. The company says it is on track to make the U.S. a larger player in drone battery manufacturing.
The hope is to manufacture battery cells by the end of 2025 with the plant at maximum capacity by 2028.
