Not even 48 hours after he was on stage in Grand Forks, Sam Hunt has released his new single and video “Locked Up.” While the song seems to be autobiographical, the video is straight-up historical, with Hunt and wife Hannah Lee Fowler re-enacting Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash as they appeared at Folsom State Prison. Hunt is set for his performance debut of “Locked Up” at the 2024 CMT Music Awards on April 7th.
Country newcomer Anne Wilson has scored a bonafide country star for her new duet. The singer appears with Jordan Davis on the single “Country Gold.” Already a star on the Christian music scene, Wilson’s album “Rebel” comes out April 19. The album will straddle the faith-based and country music genres, with two more duets with Lainey Wilson and Chris Tomlin.
Some other HEAVY HITTERS in country released new music this week too.
“Break Mine” by Brothers Osborne.
“Tie Up” by Zac Brown Band.
“Pride” by Sara Evans.
“28th of June” by Megan Moroney.
“I Can’t Complain” by Cody Jinks.
And of course there were plenty of new songs that should be on your radar!
“Alabama Sound” by Taylor Hunnicutt, itches that southern rock scratch you have.
“Mary Riley” by Muscadine Bloodline, has that rebellious feel for all of us.
