A northern California man impersonating Santa Claus and flying on a powered parachute had to rescued after he got tangled up in some power lines.
The man took off near a school in Rio Linda to deliver candy canes to children in his community. As he took off, witnesses said he had some engine trouble and flew into a maze of power lines and wound up suspended in them.
Power was shut off during the rescue to about 200 customers.
It didn’t take long to get Santa out of there. The fire department was able to get him into a harness and lower him to the ground.
