JAMESTOWN, N.D. – A close call for two adults and two children over the weekend. Their tracked vehicle plunged through thin ice on Lake Audubon northeast of Jamestown and was partially submerged. Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser said the tracked vehicle sank in water five to six feet deep about 150 feet from shore. The four were able to crawl out a hatch on the roof of the vehicle and were taken to shore one-by-one by first responders. The four were okay but very cold. Stutsman says there’s been water running through a culvert not far from where the SnoCat went under which created the extremely thin ice. The vehicle was pulled from the lake by a towtruck late Saturday night.
