Fargo National Cemetery (FNC) Memorial Day Event
Fargo, ND— April 29, 2025 — The Fargo National Cemetery Volunteer Committee announces
the sixth annual Memorial Day event on Monday, May 26th, at 3:00 p.m.
This year will honor the naval service during the Vietnam War. North Dakota University Systems Chief of Staff and
Director for Innovation and Economic Development, Retired Navy Captain Mark Gorenflo, will
give the keynote address. Regional Congressional delegations have been asked to make
remarks.
This will be the fourth time this event will be held on the Fargo National Cemetery
grounds. The event will be located at 8709 40th Ave. N, County Road 20, Harwood, ND
58042.
Gorenflo completed over three decades of federal service, both as a front-line submarine
officer rising to ship command, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy, Department of
Veterans Affairs, and Principal Director for Policy for the Secretary of the Navy.
Various Veterans Groups, Civil Air Patrol’s 119th ANG Cadet Squadron, the Red River Veterans
Band, and the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard will take part in the Memorial Day Event.
Fargo National Cemetery is a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Cemetery.
The cemetery will eventually serve the burial needs of more than 30,000 Veterans, their
spouses, and eligible family members from the North Dakota and Western Minnesota region 2.
The Fargo National Cemetery Volunteer Committee is not affiliated with the United States
Veteran Affairs, or the National Cemetery Administration, and does not speak in any official
capacity for the above-mentioned government entities.
