Dynamite found, removed from property near Twin Cities

MEDINA, Minn. – A man found a box containing about 50 sticks of dynamite on Wednesday inside a building on his recently purchased property in Medina, northwest of Minneapolis.

The West Suburban Fire Department was called to the property northwest of Medina Golf and Country Club and Medina Entertainment Center.

The man said he found the box while cleaning out one of the property’s storage buildings. Fire officials said the condition of the dynamite was unknown.

As a precaution, a 1/3 mile area was evacuated and the Minneapolis Bomb Squad responded to safely remove the box.
