ST. PAUL, MN (KFGO) – State officials are setting up a special task force to gather input and make recommendations on statues, monuments and artwork at the State Capitol complex.
It’s prompted by the protesters pulling down the statue of Christopher Columbus. Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan sayid when the task force makes its recommendations, “then a decision will be made with regards to the Columbus statue, but not before.”
She anticipates that decision will not be made for six to eight months. Senate Republicans want to know when the Minnesota Historical Society plans to reinstall the Columbus statue.
