FARGO (KFGO) – Court records say a woman charged with attempted murder is accused of attacking her boyfriend with a hatchet, striking him in the head and severely injuring his fingers.
Last Friday, police officers responded to a home in south Fargo where a man says he was assaulted. A witness told police he was in bed when he heard the victim scream and saw Lena Deoliveira swing a hatchet.
The witness says he believed Deoliveira was ‘out of it’ and ‘came back to’ when she heard a couch recliner click. She fled after the attack.
The victim suffered a large cut on his head and deep cuts on his fingers. A witness says he believes the cuts on the victim’s hand were due to him trying to defend himself.
Deoliveira, who has no permanent address, was arrested in Moorhead Sunday. She is in the Cass County jail and charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.
