STOCKHOLM (Reuters) -Swedish police are investigating a case of attempted sabotage involving the water supply on the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea, daily Aftonbladet reported on Monday, citing anonymous sources.
The possible sabotage could have resulted in the entire island being left without water if it had not been discovered, the sources said.
“We are aware of an incident that was reported yesterday but it is being handled by police,” a Swedish Security Service spokesperson told Reuters.
A police spokesperson declined to comment.
