DAYTONA, Fla. (KFGO) – West Fargo native Bryce Haugeberg raced his NDSU/Brenco #06 Toyota to a top-10 finish in the ARCA 200 Saturday in Daytona.
Haugeberg was able to avoid mayhem in a caution-filled race at Daytona International Speedway to finish 10th.
It was a surprising and impressive finish for the mechanical engineering student who qualified 15th, but was forced to start in the back of the field after an electrical issue during warm-ups required the pit crew to replace a part. He also avoided seven wrecks during the race, although he made contact with the outside wall just after taking the checkered flag at the finish.
Brenden Queen won the race in his 2nd ever ARCA start. Eden Prairie, Minnesota native William Sawalich finished 2nd. Jason Kitzmiller was 3rd, Lavar Scott was 4th, and 4-time Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves rounded out the top-5.
