If you weren’t at Post Malone‘s Opry debut in August, fret not. You can now be a fly on the wall and relive the show in a 12-minute video.
The Grand Ole Opry has shared a video documenting Posty’s milestone night, the moments leading up to it, and how guests and onstage collaborators Lainey Wilson, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, John Michael Montgomery, The War And Treaty and others felt about it.
“Stepping in the circle today for the first time was very much like the Super Bowl. It’s terrifying but it’s so exciting and I’m ready to rock,” Posty shared in a preshow interview backstage.
“So amazing to be able to stand up on the same wood as so many amazing artists and talented people. To be completely 100% fair, [I] don’t feel like I belong,” he said. “You know, it’s so legendary. I’m so honored and I’m so grateful that they considered me talented enough to come play the Opry.”
Lainey was among the stars who had high praise for Posty.
“I am so proud that he is a part of this generation of country music. I think he represents it well and I think he’s introducing a lot of folks to country music,” Lainey shared. “This is a huge night for him.”
