MINOT, N.D. (KFGO) – A Minot man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into a Minot home and maced five people, including a one-year-old child and two other young children.
Minot Police say 23-year-old Brian Clark and two other men broke into a home around 10:45 p.m. Sunday. Once inside, they used bear mace on two adults, a man and a woman, and three children, aged 1, 4, and 5. The man told police Clark and the other two suspects maced him and then kicked and punched him. The adult victims told officers the three were wearing all black clothes and black facemasks, but they could identify one of the men as Clark.
Officers had to use gas masks to go inside the home because there was so much mace used. The 1-year-old was crying so hard that it stopped breathing intermittently, and the first officer on scene had to rub its chest to help it breathe. All five were taken to a local hospital.
The adult victims told officers that Clark and the male victim had been friends for years, but had recently been arguing on Snapchat. The victim and Clark had previously agreed to meet in person to fight, but that never happened. The victim told police he thought the argument was over.
Officers located and arrested Clark. Officers found black clothing in his car that was soaked with mace. Clark was questioned, and gave conflicting statements to officers about his whereabouts during the incidents.
Clark is facing six felonies, including burglary and assault. Minot Police are working to identify the other two suspects
