A Gofundme account created by their older sister, Kyra Frank, says the boys were airlifted to the hospital in critical condition and are now receiving at the Hennepin County Medical Center Burn Center.
The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office said the explosion happened around 12:30 p.m. Monday when their father, who was also injured, lit a cigarette inside a metal storage unit where a propane tank had been leaking.
The father’s condition has not been released. The Gofundme page says the five boys are in stable condition.
As of mid-day Monday, the fundraiser had raised nearly $22,000 towards a $50,000 goal.
