FRAZEE, Minn. (KFGO) – One man is dead and another is in jail after a shooting in Becker County Saturday morning.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office responded around 1:20 a.m. Saturday to a call that a man had been shot at a trailer home just off Highway 10 about 4 miles northwest of Frazee.
First responders attempted to save the victim’s life, but he died at the scene. The 31-year-old victim was identified as Arlan Ray Bergstrom, Jr. of Detroit Lakes.
Officers identified 31-year-old Willis McDonald, from rural Frazee, as the suspect. He was arrested around 2 a.m. Saturday at a residence south of Frazee in Otter Tail County. McDonald was booked into the Becker County Jail.
The Sheriff’s office says this is believed to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Frazee Police Department, Detroit Lakes Police Department, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Essentia EMS, Frazee Fire Department, and Sanford Air-Med all responded. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the shooting.
