THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. (KFGO KVRR) – A Thief River Falls woman accused of setting her apartment on fire in January after a night out drinking is convicted of 4th-degree arson.
Misty Myhrer was given credit for serving a week in jail and faces no additional jail time unless she violates probation, which she is on for two years.
She was initially charged with arson in the 1st degree.
According to court records, her boyfriend had called the police to tell them his girlfriend “lit the place on fire” and that the fire was out and she was attempting to leave.
Two kids inside the apartment were removed at the time.
Myhrer had a lighter on her when she was taken into custody.
