MINNEAPOLIS – A public memorial for Minneapolis Police Officer Jamal Mitchell is scheduled for next Tuesday (6/11) at 11 a.m. at Maple Grove High School, with details expected over the next few days.
Mitchell, 36, was fatally shot just over a week ago while attempting to assist a person he believed was wounded, when investigators say the suspect “ambushed” him.
Mitchell’s fiancée in a statement issued by the police department says “Our family is completely devastated…. Jamal was our whole world” and “his greatest joys in life were his children.”
Tori Myslajek says, “On behalf of our family and from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank our friends, neighbors, loved ones, and the entire community for their continued support.”
