MINNEAPOLIS – The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office is petitioning the Minnesota Supreme Court for a review of the Deshaun Hill murder case.
The State Court of Appeals reversed the murder conviction of Cody Fohrenkam, 30, for the February 2022 shooting of the 15-year-old Minneapolis North High School quarterback.
Prosecutor Mary Moriarity says the Minnesota Supreme Court should review the case and reinstate the conviction. She says her office charged the right person and they will try the case again, if necessary.
The appeals panel said Fohrenkam made incriminating statements just before he was to be released from custody on an unrelated matter in Carlton County.
