STANLEY, N.D. (KFGO) – A Stanley, North Dakota man is charged with murder after police say he shot and killed his friend while on psychedelic mushrooms.
Malcom Mayors, 33, turned himself in to the Mountrail county Jail just after 12 a.m. Friday. Mayors told officers at the jail that he had taken mushrooms, and wasn’t sure if he killed his friend.
Stanley Police went to 535 2nd St. SW, and found a man who had been shot through the chest and side. They also found a gun and two bullet casings. One bullet went through a water pipe, flooding the basement.
Mayors told police he had taken psychedelic mushrooms between 6 and 7 p.m. Thursday. He called his friend, who came over to play virtual reality games and drank beer with Mayors. Mayors couldn’t get back to reality, and shot, but wasn’t sure if it was real or fake. He tried to get into his phone to call for help, but grabbed his friend’s phone instead. He told police he drove to get help.
Mayors is currently in the Mountrail County Jail for Felony AA Murder. His bond is set at $1 million.
