SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A Sioux Falls man was arrested after being accused of stabbing an employee at the Banquet, a downtown Sioux Falls kitchen that feeds meals to the homeless, Wednesday.
The suspect was told to leave the feeding ministry’s evening meal because of his behavior. He left, but quickly returned and was confronted by the employee.
“The employee didn’t realize it at the time, but when the suspect swung at the victim, he ended up stabbing him. The victim had two different stab wounds to his back. He was taken to the hospital and they were found to be non-life-threatening injuries,” Sioux Falls Police spokesman Sam Clemens said.
The suspect fled on foot, but was found nearby the Banquet. He led police on a brief foot pursuit before being taken into custody.
