FARGO (KFGO) – Clean up is underway after hundreds limbs and branches broke loose during the Christmas Day ice storm.
“The street department has been out” said Scott Liudahl, Fargo City Forester. “And still right now they are. Dealing with debris in the street. Our initial response is we take care of anything that is blocking the street or the motor vehicle travel and the sidewalks if need be. Or if somebody can’t get out of their driveway. Those are our initial ones. Most of those we’ll respond to them.”
You can take your brush to the Fargo landfill free of charge. In Moorhead, crews will pick up tree branches and debris curbside over the next several weeks on scheduled recycling days.
West Fargo Public Works will collect branches beginning Thursday. Residents are encouraged to have all branches in one pile, placed curbside. Curbside branch collect will continue through Friday, Jan. 5.
All piles must be at least 10 feet away from any tree, hydrant, streetlight, mailbox, utility box or anything in the boulevard that would impede the grapple truck from collecting the brush. Branches should be placed next to curbs, but not on concrete or over sprinkler heads.
If residents have any questions or concerns, they can contact West Fargo Public Works Department at 701-515-5400.
