ST. PAUL, Minn. – On Thursday, the opening day of the 2023 Minnesota State Fair, fairgoers were lined up at the gates before the crack of dawn.
State Fair spokesperson Maria Hayden says ticket prices went up slightly this year to $18 for adults and $16 for seniors and kids, but there are discount days including opening day. Adults get in for $16 dollars Thursday and admission for kids and seniors is $13.
The Black Keys open the State Fair Grandstand Concert series Thursday night. Actor/musician Kevin Bacon and his brother, Michael, perform for free at the Leinie Lodge Bandshell the first two evenings.
Nearly 2 million people attended the 2022 State Fair.
