DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KFGO) – The Detroit Lakes Police Chief has released more details about the crash that killed Fargo Marathon Executive Director Mark Knutson.
According to Chief Steve Todd, home video surveillance footage shows Mark Knutson, 53, lose control of his bicycle and fall into the path of the passing pickup and boat trailer, driven by 42-year-old Jacob Grabowski of Fargo. That video confirms the Grabowski’s statements to investigators.
The crash happened Sunday morning on South Shore Drive. Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures before Knutson was flown to Sanford in Fargo where he died.
The incident remains under investigation, but Todd said it doesn’t appear the pickup driver violated any laws.
