MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – For the first time, Sun Country has been named the Best Low-Cost Airline in North America in the World Airline Awards.
Skytrax’s 2023 awards were announced this week, with the Minnesota-based budget carrier taking the accolade based upon airline passenger satisfaction surveys. Delta, the biggest carrier from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, was named the Best Airline in North America and Best Airline Staff Service.
Sun Country beat Southwest Airlines, Air Canada Rouge, Spirit Airlines, and Frontier to the top spot. It ranked seventh in the world for budget carriers, while Delta ranked 20th globally for best airline.
