MINNEAPOLIS – Gov. Tim Walz will be moving into the home of the University of Minnesota’s president in St. Paul this summer.
The U of M Board of Regents approved a lease agreement Monday that will allow the governor and his family to temporarily live in Eastcliff after President Joan Gabel leaves in June.
The Minnesota Governor’s Residence is undergoing renovations and it required Walz to relocate through September 2024. It will cost $4,400 in monthly rent.
The state had planned to lease a home on Sunfish Lake for more than $17,000 a month.
