MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – KFGO’S “Game on Hockey” co-hosted by Travis Dunn and Scott Taylor was among the winning entries in the annual Eric Sevareid Awards competition in Minneapolis.
The weekly program on KFGO highlighted hockey at all levels with a focus on collegiate hockey and the NHL. Dunn, a member of the 1980 University of North Dakota national championship team, died suddenly while traveling for business in Des Moines, Iowa on Feb. 1. He was 65.
KFGO News and KFGO Sports also captured awards from the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association in the multi-state competition which attracted hundreds of entries from radio and television stations.
The MBJA awards contest is open to stations in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin. Sevareid, a North Dakota native, was a legendary broadcaster in the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
