WILLISTON, N.D. (KFGO) – A Watford City man died Friday evening after losing control of his pickup on Highway 85 in northwest North Dakota and crashing into a semi truck.
According to the Highway Patrol, the 29-year-old driver of the pickup was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected in the crash.
The crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. during the winter storm that was causing snow and blowing snow. The road was icy and a “no travel advisory” was in effect.
The driver of the semi truck – a 67-year-old Montana man – suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries. He was taken to CHI St. Alexius hospital in Williston.
The crash remains under investigation.
