WASHINGTON (KFGO) – Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith say more than $26-million in federal money has been approved to help build two railway underpasses along 11th Street in downtown Moorhead.
The money will be provided through the US Department of Transportation’s Rural Surface Transportation Grant Program.
Moorhead has sought the underpass for years to improve safety and reduce delays caused by heavy rail traffic.
The city, Clay County, the state and Burlington-Northern Santa Fe Railway are other partners in the project.
