DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Veterans have been honored at a Wreaths Across America ceremony held Saturday in Detroit Lakes.
People gathered at Veterans Memorial Park to place the wreaths as part of the national effort to honor military service. The wreaths are laid to teach the next generation about the sacrifices made by the generation before.
Wreaths were also placed at the G.A.R. Park, Crosier Memorial Park, Oak Grove Cemetery, and the Holy Rosary Cemetery. The movement started nationwide 30 years ago and has been conducted in Detroit Lakes since 2015.
