MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) – A Moorhead Police detective made a significant drug arrest on Interstate 94 in Clay County on Wednesday.
Charles Fraction, age 48 and with no permanent address, was arrested during a traffic stop after officers searching the vehicle found 74 grams of a powder believed to be a cocaine and fentanyl mixture, 4.6 grams of methamphetamine, and another unidentified powder. Authorities say the street value of the drugs was approximately $15,000.
Law enforcement from five agencies including the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Fargo Police Department, Cass County (ND) Drug Task Force, and the US Marshals Service High Plains Fugitive Task Force were working on an active investigation that led them to believe Fraction was traveling back into the metro area after receiving a shipment of drugs for distribution.
Fraction had several felony level warrants including burglary, domestic assault, terrorizing and possession of a controlled substance.
Fraction was booked into the Clay County Correctional Facility and charged with two Felony 1st Degree Controlled Substance counts.
