FARGO (KFGO) – While it usually produces gin, vodka and rum, Proof Artisan Distillers in Fargo is temporarily getting into the hand sanitizer business. Founder Joel Katz says he’s been given federal approval to manufacture two sizes of bottled hand sanitizer.
Kath, on KFGO “Afternoons Live” with Tyler Axness, said the production of hand sanitizer will lower the amount of vodka that his company makes. He says some of the product may go to hospitals or businesses that have run into supply-issues, due to Covid-19.
He says part of the profits may be set aside to help the local service industry, including bars and restaurants, which have seen a significant drop in business resulting from the coronavirus outbreak.
