FARGO (KFGO) – Police have taken a woman into custody for the stabbings of three people near Main Avenue and 9th Street S in Fargo. It was initially believed that two people were stabbed, but police later said there were three victims. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The stabbing took place outside Mexican Village restaurant and at least one of the victims was brought inside. Debra Schreiner, who was having lunch, said she went outside and helped one of the victims. She said the woman believed to be responsible was naked.
Police, including a crisis negotiator, attempted to speak with the suspect, who was in an SUV in a parking lot on the east side of the restaurant. One of the victims locked the suspect in the SUV.
Red River Valley SWAT was also sent to the scene. Shortly before 3:30 p.m., police reported that the suspect had been arrested.
